thursday, we were invited in an other village, to be jury on a danse competition, the theme was HOLLYWOOD, and all the school from 1st grade to 12 grade participated, children, teacher, everybody gave all what they have.

and then to finish this great day we had a party with all student it was so cool !!

 this week we prepared christmas ornement with children during handicraft workshop, so here we have little santa claus and snow man, ball made with plastic bottle , a christmas tree new generation , and this week again more children came to participate so it was perfect even if we almost didn't have enought bottle

week end in Riga

this week end Damien went to Riga with others volunteer from jurmala, Liepaja and Dobele. During this week end they were to the christmas market, they made the first snowman of winter :D, and had fun in club all night long all this under snow it was perfect

Brīvprātīgo diena

At 5th of December we celebrate International Day of Volunteers. At that day we participated on a meeting in Jelgava. There were young people from Jelgava novads, who want's to organize something for the community. After all we made presentations about ourselves, about volunteering, and about our work in Staļģene.

CESIS

This weekend other volunteers invite us in Cesis. They organized a treasure hunting for us so we visited this beautiful city, we also met lot of other volunteers during the intercultural evening ( from France, Italy, Germany, Romania, Turkey, Russia...) 

40th birthday

Last Friday we were in Lidumi to celebrate the 40th birthday of the weaving association. Women prepared an exhibition of their works, finally the birthday finished by some traditional dance and song.

Staro Rīga

Our week ends with a small trip: we visited the capital city to see the Festival of Lights and to know better Riga. There were different light shows on different locations. Our favorite was the flying man show, but we also liked another one with famous people and inventions. On the free Monday we visited the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia.

advent calendar

Today we made an advent calendar, we built 24 Christmas socks, every day children will find a surprise in a sock, because waiting Christmas is so long !! So we need little surprise to make the time faster :D

Celebration, flowers and traditional dance

Last Friday we took part on celebration of the best people of the year.

Our mentor, Alīna was one of the celebrated people, and we was amazed because Latvians use to give a lot of flowers to each other.

At this evening was our first concert with the traditional dance group. It seems that the audience liked us, so we was happy. :)

We continue to learn Latvian traditional dance and we are waiting for the next big event.

robot !!!!

tresdiena, today for the handicraft activity we planned to make a giant robot , with the help of 5 children we build ''metalica ''and all accesories : brain, armor, jet pack, laser !!!!!

Mārtiņa dienā

We took part at the celebrations of Mārtiņa dienā at Friday evening and at Saturday. It was an absolute new experience for us, because in our country we don't use to celebrate Martin's day. At Friday evening we took part at the handicraft activities, and after then we organized a mini orientation for the children. At Saturday we danced Martiņa dienā's dances and we sang traditional songs with the children. We had also our handmade masks.

Martin dienā symbolizes the end of the autumn and the beginning of winter.

Activities in Kraujas

In Kraujas we have activities every week: 

• at Tuesday from 16 o'clock handicraft activity for older children (from 9 years old)
• at Thursday from 15 o'clock handicraft activity for smaller children (till 9 years old)
• outside activities at every Friday from 16 o'clock

 octrdiena, today lot of children came play with us !!! it was so cool on the morning we made origami : frog, beard, flower and monster

and on the afternoon olympic game , SPARTA won with 50 point but the other team was not so far with 41 points, apsveicam !!!!! see you tomorrow for new games !!!

 and on the afternoon, we played outside to several game :D we saw that few children run faster than us ...
